Tempo has unveiled Apple Watch integration for its AI-powered home gym, providing users with a seamless way to monitor heart rate during workouts without a dedicated heart rate monitor. Once synced, users can access valuable metrics, including calories burned during studio classes, total weight lifted, and leaderboard rankings. With approximately 70% of Tempo's users owning an iPhone and 35% of that group equipped with an Apple Watch, this integration is a strategic enhancement.
This feature not only allows users to view performance stats but also enables them to pause and resume classes and manage workouts directly from their watch, eliminating the need to interact with the gym's touchscreen panel.
Tempo's Studio home gym, launched in early 2020, comes equipped with a touchscreen panel, a 3D camera for tracking workouts, weights, and essential workout equipment. The shift to home workouts during the pandemic significantly boosted demand for Tempo's offerings. In response, the company secured $220 million in funding in April to support increased orders and enhance research and development efforts.
To sync an Apple Watch with the Tempo Studio, users must ensure that their Tempo Studio, Apple Watch, and iPhone are connected to the same WiFi network and kept in proximity. After logging into their Tempo Studio profile and downloading the app for the Watch, users simply need to follow the prompts on their iPhone to complete the setup.
