Mabl Unveils AI-Driven Low-Code Mobile App Testing Service

Mabl, a unified test automation platform, has unveiled its mobile application testing capabilities. Leveraging machine learning (ML), generative AI, and computer vision, developers can now perform comprehensive testing on mobile apps with minimal coding requirements.

“Unified means enterprises can manage their testing strategy across APIs, browsers, devices, and web/mobile applications within a single platform,” states Mabl co-founder Dan Belcher. “This approach is crucial since enterprise applications often span various interfaces. A low-code solution enables broader participation in automation, lowering the barrier for entry.”

Mabl's service utilizes machine intelligence to streamline testing processes by eliminating manual selector tasks, accelerating test creation, and identifying gaps in test coverage. The platform can rapidly generate tests for both iOS and Android apps, catering to a range of technical skills.

Belcher emphasizes that Mabl’s mobile testing solution addresses several challenges faced by mobile applications, including the complexity and high costs associated with scripted test automation tools, the excessive reliance on manual testing, the cumbersome deployment process for marketplaces, and the shortage of quality talent. The integration of AI not only speeds up testing but also minimizes the need for human input, reducing overall costs. Its low-code nature makes quality assurance accessible to both technical and non-technical users.

“Mobile applications require extensive testing across devices and operating systems, yet many development teams still depend on manual testing for quality assurance. This method is often expensive and fails to provide a complete view of quality across APIs, performance, and accessibility,” he added.

The introduction of native mobile app testing complements Mabl’s existing suite of offerings. Since its inception, Mabl has expanded its services—launching an AI-driven automation solution for browser-based applications in 2018, adding API and accessibility testing in 2022, and enhancing performance testing in 2023.

Mabl’s mobile app package boasts transparent pricing tailored to each organization’s needs. It includes end-to-end user interface and API testing, a minimum of 500 credits per month, unlimited local and cloud infrastructure continuous integration (CI) runs, data-driven testing, comprehensive diagnostic data, and integrations with CI tools, Jira, Slack, and Microsoft Teams, as well as ongoing customer support.

Since its establishment in 2017, Mabl has raised $77 million in venture capital from prominent investors, including GV, Vista Equity Partners’ Endeavor Fund, Amplify Partners, Presidio Ventures, and CRV. In the last year, Mabl reported a 66% increase in monthly active users, a threefold rise in test runs, and nearly eight times the number of API test requests.

“In today’s competitive landscape, organizations that fail to prioritize mobile quality risk losing their user base,” warns Belcher. “We’ve observed that those who adopt AI-powered, automated testing solutions gain a significant edge by democratizing mobile app testing and accelerating time to market.”
