Capsule Launches AI-Driven Video Editor Tailored for Enterprise Teams

Capsule Launches AI-Powered Video Editing Tool for Enterprises

Capsule, an innovative startup focused on harnessing AI for video editing, is excited to announce the public release of its product after three years of dedicated development. This AI-driven editor aims to empower content and marketing teams, enabling them to create videos ten times faster than traditional methods, according to the company.

To achieve this goal, Capsule has carefully addressed several challenges faced by its customers, including the complexities of video editing, the incorporation of motion graphics, adherence to stringent brand guidelines, and the need for effective collaboration on video projects. Due to these challenges, many businesses have historically outsourced video production to professionals.

Capsule strives to provide the simplicity seen in popular productivity applications like Notion and Google Slides. The user-friendly interface, combined with AI capabilities, simplifies the video editing process. Importantly, all editing occurs within the browser, eliminating the need for powerful computer hardware.

Previously, Capsule showcased features enabling users to seamlessly select blocks of text from a video transcript and convert them into title cards or to prompt AI for image generation based on user input. The platform also offers a variety of caption styles to enhance video content.

Following a successful $4.75 million funding round earlier this year, Capsule underwent a significant rebuild, introducing numerous features and performance enhancements aimed at assisting enterprises in video creation at scale. Users can easily incorporate text and motion graphics without prior editing experience, and they can rely on AI to generate elements such as headlines and images for supplemental footage.

Additionally, Capsule’s team is actively developing collaboration features. These will facilitate teamwork among copywriters, product designers, motion graphics artists, video editors, and marketing teams, allowing everyone involved in a project to work together seamlessly within the Capsule platform.

At the core of Capsule’s video editing capabilities is CapsuleScript, a video scripting language developed over several years. Designed specifically for browser use, all outputs from the AI model feed directly into CapsuleScript. This scripting language features its own layout and animation engine akin to CSS, dynamic expressions, modular components similar to JavaScript, and supports resolution-independent motion graphics, such as SVG. CapsuleScript is set to become an open community resource, inviting designers and developers to expand its features.

Capsule has been in beta testing with over 160 companies, including notable brands like HubSpot, Suzy, and Zapier. Now, Capsule is moving to public beta, boasting a waitlist of 10,000 eager users ready to access the platform.

The solution is offered at no cost to individual business users who register with a company email, while enterprise pricing is structured per seat and aligns with other corporate creative tools like Figma.

To date, Capsule has secured a total of $7.75 million in funding from a mix of investors, including Bloomberg Beta, Array Ventures, Human Ventures, and Swift Ventures, alongside notable angel investors such as Nat Friedman (CEO, GitHub), Amjad Masad (CEO, Replit), and Roy Raanani (co-founder, Chorus.ai).

Stay tuned as Capsule revolutionizes the video editing landscape with its cutting-edge AI technology, designed to streamline production and enhance creative collaboration.
