NVIDIA is reportedly in discussions to acquire software startup OctoAI, according to documents shared with OctoAI's shareholders. The estimated offer stands at around $165 million for the Seattle-based company, which specializes in software that optimizes the performance of artificial intelligence models for its clients. Notable shareholders in OctoAI include Tiger Global Management, Madrona Venture Group, and Amplify Partners. NVIDIA has not provided immediate comments regarding the acquisition.
In recent months, NVIDIA has been active in the mergers and acquisitions landscape, completing four transactions this year alone. In April, the company acquired Israeli data center management software firm Run:Ai for $700 million. In May, it purchased Deci, an end-to-end deep learning platform developer, for $300 million. June saw NVIDIA acquire Shoreline, a company specializing in automated data center failure management, in a deal valued at approximately $100 million. Finally, in July, NVIDIA took over AI development tools startup Brev.dev, although the financial details of that transaction were not disclosed.
This strategic expansion highlights NVIDIA's commitment to enhancing its capabilities in the AI sector through targeted acquisitions.
