Dell Leverages Nvidia's AI Solutions to Enhance Its AI Production Line

Dell is collaborating with Nvidia to enhance its AI Factory infrastructure service, adding support for innovative software and server solutions tailored for intensive AI workloads. Announced at the GTC earlier this year, Dell's AI Factory is dedicated entirely to meeting the unique demands of high-performance AI applications.

One of the key advancements in this expansion is the introduction of liquid-cooled servers, specifically the new PowerEdge XE9680L, unveiled at Dell Technologies World in Las Vegas. These cutting-edge servers are equipped with eight of Nvidia's flagship Blackwell GPUs. The liquid cooling technology is designed to efficiently dissipate heat away from the hardware, enabling businesses utilizing the XE9680L to achieve impressive energy efficiency in large-scale AI deployments. This innovation allows the GPUs to maintain optimal performance levels for extended periods, crucial for managing demanding AI tasks.

Dell's XE9680L servers are anticipated to become available in the latter half of 2024. "Organizations are rapidly advancing to seize AI opportunities, which underscores the significance of our partnership with Nvidia," stated Michael Dell, founder and CEO of Dell Technologies. "By expanding the Dell AI Factory with Nvidia, we are simplifying the implementation of AI, empowering organizations to confidently navigate this next technological revolution."

Nvidia is also integral to a tool within Dell’s AI Factory that enables organizations to create personalized digital assistants. The Dell Generative AI Solution for Digital Assistants empowers users to design, test, and fine-tune custom AI assistants before full-scale deployment, making AI integration more accessible and customized to specific needs.

Additionally, Dell's AI Factory offers NativeEdge, an orchestration platform that automates Nvidia's AI Enterprise software. This platform allows businesses to tailor Nvidia's software to optimize performance for specific applications, enhancing effectiveness and relevance in various industries. Nvidia's comprehensive suite of AI microservices, including Nim for model optimization, is also available, allowing users to customize and refine models for specialized applications.

"Generative AI necessitates a new kind of computing infrastructure—an AI factory that generates intelligence," affirmed Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of Nvidia. "Through our collaboration, Nvidia and Dell are delivering a complete stack solution, incorporating computing, networking, and software, that powers the next generation of digital innovation, from coding assistants to virtual customer service agents and advanced industrial digital twins."

Together, these advancements lay the groundwork for industries to harness AI-driven solutions, paving the way for transformative changes in business operations and technology integration.
