Today, Du Xiaoman and Harbin Institute of Technology announced the launch of the "Harbin Institute of Technology-Du Xiaoman Joint Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (Large Models)." This partnership aims to drive innovative research in large model foundation development, core technologies, and their practical applications, enhancing the effectiveness of these models in real-world scenarios.
The collaboration will also focus on developing top talent in generative artificial intelligence, accelerating the adoption of these transformative technologies in various industries.
Joint research initiatives will delve into key areas, including the origins of cognitive abilities in large models, long-context modeling, and the rapid adaptation of large models to multimodal data such as audio, images, and text. Additionally, the projects will address the explainability of decision outputs generated by large models across different contexts.
In a significant milestone, Du Xiaoman has recently open-sourced "Xuanyuan," China's first billion-parameter financial large model. Building on the 176 billion parameter Bloom model, Xuanyuan excels in comprehending financial terminology, market analysis, data interpretation, and news assessment, surpassing general models in performance within these domains.
