Currently, this tool is available to iOS users in the U.S., U.K., and Germany, with a gradual rollout planned for Android users in the coming months.

    Following in the footsteps of Amazon and Google, eBay announced this AI-powered background enhancement tool on Tuesday. It automatically removes existing image backgrounds and allows sellers to choose from various appealing backdrops, such as a stylish tabletop or vibrant colors that resonate with their brand identity. Last year, Amazon and Google introduced similar tools for advertisers, allowing brands to harness generative AI for fresh product imagery.

    This new background-enhancement tool is especially beneficial for sellers who may lack the resources or expertise to capture professional-grade photos. It improves upon eBay’s previous feature, which relied on computer vision technology to provide a basic white background for listing photos. The latest AI tool utilizes the Stable Diffusion open-source model to create stunning visuals.
