Google Shopping Introduces Enhanced AI-Powered Features for Smarter Shopping Experience

Google has been enhancing its shopping tools with AI, allowing users to utilize generative AI to virtually "try on" clothing and search for items using Google Lens. Today, Google has introduced even more AI capabilities to its Shopping service with Gemini, which now highlights the most relevant products.

Instead of presenting a random assortment, Google Shopping now offers AI-generated summaries that recommend related items based on your search. For instance, if you search for notebooks, you might also see suggestions for related stationery items like pens and erasers. These recommendations come from various online sources, including articles and guides, which you can read by clicking on the links provided.

To further tailor your shopping experience, you can refine your searches using filters such as clothing size and local store availability. These filters also integrate with virtual try-ons and augmented reality (AR) shopping. With AR, if a product has a 3D model, you can visualize it as if it were in a physical store.

Additionally, Google Shopping is rolling out a new "Deals" page that displays lower prices, personalized based on your previous searches. If you need to take a break from shopping, you can easily exit Google Shopping and return later, picking up right where you left off. For those who prefer not to have their searches tracked, personalized recommendations can be disabled.

These updates to Google Shopping are being rolled out in the U.S. starting today, but some users may not see the changes immediately as the rollout continues over the coming weeks.
