Meistrari Identifies Gaps in Prompt Engineering Solutions and Is Creating One

Artificial Intelligence Powering Development in Brazil: Meistrari's Vision

Artificial intelligence is reshaping the technology landscape, and in Brazil, the Meistrari team aims to empower developers to harness its full potential. Founded in 2023 by Rodrigo Bobrow and Henrique Cunha, Meistrari specializes in providing robust solutions for businesses leveraging large language models (LLMs).

Initially, Meistrari introduced a tool called Perfect Profile, which optimizes LinkedIn profiles for search visibility. While this product facilitated rapid front-end and back-end development, the team encountered challenges with AI orchestration and prompt engineering, taking weeks to find suitable development solutions, as Bobrow recalls.

To address this gap, Bobrow and Cunha set out to create an all-in-one, automated system for prompt generation and output assessment. “The prompt is the instruction given to another LLM, which significantly influences output quality,” explained Bobrow.

The Meistrari platform requires no programming expertise and ensures quality control for applications utilizing various language models like ChatGPT, Claude, and Cohere. Its features encompass prompt management, system testing, output evaluation, and real-time system monitoring.

“Our platform offers three core experiences: first, crafting effective prompts; second, a testing suite that generates 100 test cases for each brand, allowing users to evaluate prompt performance in real-world scenarios; and third, an evaluation system where you can set up multiple evaluators to assess aspects of your outputs,” Bobrow elaborated.

Instead of focusing on tuning an LLM as the primary approach, Meistrari advocates for prompt architecting.

Meistrari recently unveiled its proof of concept, “Prompts Royale,” on GitHub in 2023, capturing the attention of notable executives, including the founders of Shopify, Cohere, and OtherSideAI. Bobrow shared that Shopify’s co-founder, Tobi Lütke, reached out to request a security feature for potential Shopify integration, leading to over 100 GitHub stars on its launch day and numerous investor inquiries.

Despite being in its early stages—just under five months into its technology development—Meistrari successfully secured a $4 million seed investment. This funding round was co-led by Monashees and Audacious Ventures, with participation from notable angel investors like Oleg Rogynskyy of People AI, Paul St. John, former CRO of GitHub, and Hugh Strange, former CPO of Nubank.

Much of the newly raised capital will support team expansion, allowing continued advancements in AI infrastructure, according to Bobrow. A minimum viable product is expected to launch within the next two months.

“One of our guiding principles is to provide a development environment tailored for natural language,” Cunha stated in an interview. “We’re increasingly noticing that codebases are being written in English rather than traditional programming languages. Concurrently, many companies are integrating prompts directly into their codebases. Our goal is to offer a fully integrated development environment tailored for natural language processing.”
