Mercedes and NVIDIA Collaborate to Develop Next-Generation AI-Driven Vehicles

Mercedes and NVIDIA: A New Era of AI-Driven Vehicles

Mercedes-Benz is setting ambitious goals for the future of its vehicles, ranging from modular vans to autonomous cars and recently unveiled gesture-based controls at CES. To turn this vision into reality, Mercedes has partnered with AI innovator NVIDIA.

During the CES event, Mercedes-Benz Executive Vice President Sajjad Khan and NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang presented their exciting plans for next-generation AI vehicles. "We're announcing a new partnership to create a computer that defines the future of autonomous vehicles, AI, and mobility," said Huang.

This collaboration builds on an existing relationship, as NVIDIA has previously assisted Mercedes' parent company, Daimler, in developing self-driving taxis expected to hit the roads within five years.

Khan emphasized that this new partnership marks a significant shift from past initiatives. Together, they aim to develop a "defined software" system that consolidates self-driving capabilities, replacing the numerous processors currently used in vehicles. "We are working on entirely different technology with NVIDIA to harness AI in our products and lead the charge in today's megatrends," Khan explained.

As Mercedes-Benz and NVIDIA forge ahead, the automotive landscape is poised for transformation through innovative AI solutions.
