Meta AI is initiating a significant international rollout, launching today in Brazil, Bolivia, Guatemala, Paraguay, the Philippines, and the UK. Over the coming weeks, it will also debut in Algeria, Egypt, Indonesia, Iraq, Jordan, Libya, Malaysia, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Thailand, Tunisia, the United Arab Emirates, Vietnam, and Yemen, although specific dates for these launches have not been provided.
This expansion brings new language support to Meta AI. Starting today, Tagalog will be available, with Arabic, Indonesian, Thai, and Vietnamese to follow soon. Users can access the Meta AI assistant on the web and across social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Messenger.
Additionally, Meta AI will be launched on Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses in the UK and Australia. Initially, the UK version will offer only voice support; a timeline for the full multimodal capabilities has yet to be announced.
Notably absent from this rollout is the European Union. Meta has indicated it will not introduce multimodal AI services in the EU due to regulatory concerns. CEO Mark Zuckerberg has openly criticized the EU's approach to regulating the growth of artificial intelligence.
