Neurable Secures $13 Million to Advance Brain-Computer Interface Technology
Neurable, a Boston-based company, has raised $13 million to enhance its brain-computer interface (BCI) technology, designed to integrate seamlessly with everyday products.
This new funding round will allow Neurable to further develop its BCI AI technology, targeting large-scale applications and expanding its licensing business across various industries. Investors in this funding include Ultratech Capital Partners, TRAC, Pace Ventures, and Metaplanet.
Neurable aims to democratize neurotechnology, making it accessible and practical. The company's innovative AI chip will be featured in its upcoming MW75 Neuro headphones, marking a significant step towards user-friendly neurotechnology.
With over $30 million raised since its inception, Neurable is actively collaborating with its licensing partners to bring neurotechnology into mainstream use. The company plans to expand its product lineup to include earbuds, helmets, and other head-worn devices aimed at enhancing human performance.
CEO Ramses Alcaide stated, “This new round of funding underscores our commitment to making Neurable’s brain-computer interface technology accessible to everyone. We’re empowering individuals to understand their own minds, optimize performance, and address some of the health challenges facing our generation.”
Neurable's cutting-edge electroencephalography (EEG) AI technology is designed for compact devices, providing a non-invasive method to capture brain activity and deliver valuable data to users.
“Neurable’s transformative neurotechnology is at the forefront of the BCI revolution,” noted Dale Davis, senior principal at Ultratech Capital Partners. “BCI technology has gained significant momentum and has the potential to address various challenges—from healthcare to everyday life. Integrating BCI into our devices will soon become a reality, thanks to Neurable.”
Originally founded as a University of Michigan spinout, Neurable has, since its Series A funding in 2020, partnered with prominent consumer wearable companies, including Master & Dynamic, to integrate EEG sensors into everyday technology. The MW75 Neuro headphones, the first BCI-enabled headphones, are set to launch this summer.
Furthermore, Neurable has collaborated with the Air Force Research Lab’s 711 Human-Performance Wing to validate its technology for enhancing human performance, securing $5 million in contracts from the Department of Defense for ongoing development of this advanced human technology.
Adam Molnar, cofounder and vice president of strategic partnerships at Neurable, expressed pride in collaborating with leading consumer technology brands and military personnel. "This is just the beginning. We can’t wait to show you what’s coming next."
