Opera's AI Assistant Now Offers Web Page Summaries on Android Devices

Opera’s innovative in-browser AI tool, Aria, now offers the ability to summarize text-based web pages on Android devices. This AI-driven feature efficiently condenses news articles, blog posts, and research papers into concise summaries that typically fit on a single screen, making it easier for users to grasp key points at a glance.

The announcement, made on Monday, highlights how this new functionality helps users quickly understand complex topics and identify essential details. To access the summarization feature, simply navigate to any text-based web page within the Opera Android browser, tap the three dots in the top right corner, and select the “Summarize” option next to the Aria icon. A chat window will open, displaying the requested summary.

To use this exciting new feature, ensure you update to the latest version of Opera for Android, and either log in or create a new Opera account. Since its launch last year, Aria has evolved to function as a sophisticated AI search companion, providing users with a chatbot-like interface that answers questions, making online searches more efficient.

Opera has been continuously enhancing Aria since its debut, introducing new capabilities through its AI Feature Drops Program. This initiative grants users early access to additional features, such as the recent update that allows Aria to generate images utilizing Imagen 2 by Google. Furthermore, Aria can now vocalize text responses, adding another layer of interactivity to the user experience.
