Pure Storage Unveils AI Infrastructure Solutions in Partnership with Nvidia
At last week’s GTC conference, Pure Storage announced a suite of advanced AI infrastructure solutions and validated reference architectures developed in collaboration with Nvidia. This initiative aims to equip enterprises with effective frameworks for managing the demanding data and compute requirements of successful AI deployments.
Miroslav Klivansky, Global Practice Leader for AI and Analytics at Pure Storage, discussed the enhanced partnership with Nvidia and its role in accelerating AI adoption among enterprises.
Addressing Fragmented AI Deployments
The Pure Storage and Nvidia alliance is timely, as businesses across sectors increasingly turn to AI for innovation and operational efficiency. Unfortunately, many AI projects are hindered by fragmented data environments. This partnership is designed to confront these challenges directly.
“Pure Storage has a long-standing relationship with Nvidia,” Klivansky remarked. “In 2018, we introduced AIRI, the first AI-ready infrastructure reference architecture, streamlining AI investments for organizations. Since then, we have been among the first to achieve Nvidia DGX BasePOD certification.”
Simplifying AI Infrastructure
Klivansky emphasized the significance of their collaboration, noting, “Today’s announcement underscores our commitment to support enterprise AI deployments. Together with Nvidia, we provide proven solutions that meet the high-performance data and compute needs necessary for faster model training and inference while optimizing total costs and energy use.”
A highlight of the GTC conference was the introduction of a Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) Pipeline for AI Inference. This innovative solution integrates Nvidia GPUs with Pure Storage’s all-flash enterprise storage, allowing customers to enhance large language models with custom data, thus improving relevance and accuracy without the need to develop their models from scratch.
Nvidia OVX Server Storage Certification
Another key announcement was Pure Storage's attainment of Nvidia OVX Server Storage certification. This certification offers customers flexible, validated storage reference architectures, ensuring a strong infrastructure foundation for optimized AI solutions.
“With this validation, we empower enterprise customers with flexible storage options, validated against key benchmarks,” Klivansky added. “Powered by Nvidia L40s GPUs, our customers can choose from a variety of validated architectures tailored to their needs.”
Klivansky further articulated Pure Storage's unique advantages, emphasizing that their data storage platform is optimized for AI workloads. “Pure’s FlashBlade//S stands out with superior performance, operational efficiency, and a reliable foundation that adapts to evolving AI data demands.”
Vertical-Specific AI Solutions in Finance
In addition to general AI infrastructure, Pure Storage and Nvidia are developing vertical-specific solutions. Their first offering is a Financial RAG using FinGPT, specifically tailored for the finance industry.
“Generative AI using RAG and pre-trained LLMs can create financial analyses faster and more accurately than traditional methods,” Klivansky explained. This approach addresses the unique needs of various industries and aims to drive AI adoption in finance, healthcare, and beyond.
Broadening the AI Partner Ecosystem
Pure Storage is also expanding its partner ecosystem to meet the evolving data storage demands of AI. Partnerships with leading AI platform providers, such as Run.AI and Weights & Biases, enhance their value proposition.
“We’re excited to invest in our AI partner ecosystem,” Klivansky stated. “Run.AI optimizes GPU resource usage for AI infrastructure development, while Weights & Biases enriches our platform for model building and operational efficiency.”
By leveraging these collaborations, Pure Storage aims to simplify the deployment and management of AI infrastructure, enhancing the overall AI experience for enterprises.
Promoting Sustainable AI with Energy-Efficient Storage
As AI adoption grows, the environmental impacts of data centers are increasingly scrutinized. Pure Storage addresses this with energy-efficient solutions designed to help clients reduce their carbon footprint.
“Pure’s systems typically consume 2x to 5x less power than competitive SSD-based systems,” Klivansky noted, indicating substantial savings for customers seeking sustainability in their AI infrastructure.
Shaping the Future of Enterprise AI
As Klivansky emphasized, “Pure Storage has anticipated the data storage needs of AI, delivering an efficient, container-ready platform that enables organizations to derive true value from their data.”
With a track record of delivering advanced storage solutions and a focus on innovation, Pure Storage is poised to play a crucial role in the growing AI landscape.
“By addressing the challenges of fragmented data environments, Pure Storage pioneered a solution tailored for AI,” Klivansky concluded. “Our platform allows enterprises to harness AI’s potential while mitigating costs and energy consumption.”
The partnership between Pure Storage and Nvidia is a testament to their shared vision for AI's future, helping enterprises across industries accelerate AI adoption and maintain a competitive edge in an increasingly data-driven world.
