VP Harris Urges Tech CEOs to Take Moral Responsibility for AI Safety

Harris underscores the dual potential of generative AI technologies—such as Bard, Bing Chat, and ChatGPT—to both benefit and harm society. While they can tackle significant challenges, there's a risk they could infringe on rights, foster distrust, and undermine democracy. She referenced investigations into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election to illustrate how adversarial states may exploit technology against democratic processes.
