2024 World Robot Conference: Humanoid Robots Take Center Stage as Mass Production Era Intensifies

On August 21, 2024, the World Robot Conference opened grandly in Beijing, with humanoid robots taking center stage. This year, the conference showcased a record 27 humanoid robots, marking a significant milestone in the evolution of humanoid robotics technology.

At the event, humanoid robots emerged as the highlight for various research and development companies. With ongoing advancements in technology and decreasing costs, humanoid robots are gradually transitioning into small-scale production. Some companies have successfully reduced their product prices to under 100,000 yuan, significantly broadening market application possibilities.

As an industry leader, Yushu Technology gained considerable attention with the launch of its G1 humanoid robot in May. At this conference, Yushu presented the mass production version of the G1, which underwent comprehensive design upgrades to meet production standards. Additionally, they introduced a uniquely designed "Wukong" skin version, further enhancing the product's market appeal and competitiveness.

The conference continued its "Robot +" exhibition approach, exploring the applications of robotic technology across established sectors while also venturing into emerging fields. This provided attendees with a rich visual experience and valuable industry insights. The event attracted over 150 leading robotics companies globally, with more than 60 making their debut and over 50 new products launched, showcasing the latest achievements and trends within the robotics industry.

China's rapid advancements in robotics are noteworthy. As of July 2024, the country holds over 190,000 active patents related to robotics, accounting for two-thirds of the global total. China has also maintained its position as the largest industrial robot market for 11 consecutive years, with new installations over the past three years constituting more than half of the world's total. In the manufacturing sector, China's robot density has reached 470 robots per 10,000 workers, representing a nearly 19-fold increase over the last decade, highlighting the industry's vitality and immense potential.

As humanoid robot technology matures and costs decrease, these robots are poised for wider applications in households, healthcare, education, and entertainment, enriching and streamlining daily life. Moreover, the rapid development of China's robotics industry is set to make a significant contribution to the global robotics landscape.
