OpenAI has recently launched a new search engine called SearchGPT, developed on the GPT-4 AI model. Unlike other AI tools, SearchGPT has the ability to access real-time information from the internet.
Currently, SearchGPT is in the testing phase, and OpenAI has created a waiting list for users interested in exploring its capabilities.
The interface features a large text box that prompts users with "What are you looking for?" Unlike traditional search engines, SearchGPT is designed to summarize and organize the information it finds, while providing convenient sidebar links. Users can also ask further questions via a chat box located at the bottom of the page. The system will respond with summaries that include embedded citations and links, allowing users to understand information sources and discover more related content.
Although OpenAI has not specified how long SearchGPT will remain a standalone tool, they have indicated that the goal is to integrate its best features into ChatGPT in the future.
How to Join the SearchGPT Waiting List
To gain access to SearchGPT, you need an existing ChatGPT account. Once logged in, visit the following link to join the waiting list:
Click the "Join Waiting List" button. Once it turns gray and displays a checkmark, you have successfully registered. The initial testing phase is limited to 10,000 participants, and OpenAI has not yet announced the duration of the testing or any future expansion plans.
We invite you to join the waiting list and look forward to your participation!
