Google has recently made significant updates to its artificial intelligence project, rebranding the AI assistant Bard as Gemini and introducing a variety of new features, including mobile support. However, the initial rollout of Gemini did not go smoothly, as many users experienced issues and did not have timely access to the new functionalities.
In response to these challenges, Google has acted quickly. Jack Krawczyk, the head of the Gemini product, reassured users that the team is actively addressing the feedback received. Since the launch of Gemini, they have successfully reduced the rate of unresponsive interactions by approximately 50%, prioritizing this issue for resolution.
Additionally, Google has updated the Gemini application to enable automatic voice input after users speak, enhancing the overall user experience. This improvement brings Gemini's functionality closer to that of the traditional Google Assistant, eliminating the previous need for manual input.
Initially, Gemini's mobile app was available only in the United States, but it has since expanded to more countries and regions. However, certain language supports are still lacking; some users need to change their Android device's language to English for login purposes. Krawczyk confirmed that the related login errors have been fixed.
Despite these advancements, Krawczyk noted that several issues remain in progress, including broader support for assistant tasks, programming assistance features, and the removal of specific limitations. Ongoing repair efforts are focused on enhancing Gemini's overall functionality and user experience.
