Samsung Integrates Galaxy AI with Bixby to Enhance Voice-Enabled Smart Assistant Features

In January's Galaxy Unpacked event, Samsung unveiled a new suite of artificial intelligence features called Galaxy AI, coinciding with the release of the Galaxy S24 series. This lineup introduces several innovative tools, including Call Assist, Interpreter Mode, and Transcript Assist. Samsung has also integrated these AI capabilities with its virtual assistant, Bixby, enabling users to control these features via voice commands.

Samsung emphasized in global communications that "with Bixby, users can easily activate Galaxy AI features without manually searching the device." Notably, Google has also integrated its AI chatbot, Gemini, with Google Assistant, allowing users to set it as their default assistant.

This integration enables users to interact directly with their Galaxy S24 smartphones to trigger functions. For instance, by saying "Hi Bixby, open the translator," users can initiate the translation feature. Launched in the U.S. on February 16, this functionality is now available worldwide. The AI-enhanced Bixby supports multiple languages, including Chinese, English, French, and German. However, it's important to note that not all features are accessible via voice commands—certain functions, such as instant slow-motion and photo editing, still require manual intervention.

Last week, Samsung also announced that the instant slow-motion feature will be extended to more Galaxy smartphones. This feature allows users to enjoy slow-motion videos simply by long-pressing, eliminating the need for manual slow-motion recording. In addition to the Galaxy S24 series, the existing Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy Tab S9 series, and Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Z Fold 5 will also benefit from this update.
