At the 2025 CES, Samsung Display made a big splash with their innovative flexible OLED displays. One of their standout products was the "world's first 18.1-inch foldable" display. This display doesn't have an official name yet, but Samsung sees it being integrated into various devices like tablets, laptops, and monitors.
The 18.1-inch display is designed to fold down to 13.1 inches, making it easier to carry. It was shown running Windows, hinting that it could be used in future devices similar to the HP Spectre Foldable from 2023. Other companies like ASUS have also used Samsung's 17-inch folding OLED technology. While it can only bend inward, it offers a large screen for portable PCs. When fully unfolded with a separate keyboard, it provides a great viewing experience. It can also be used as a display for another computer, adding to its versatility.
Samsung also unveiled the Flex Solo, which can expand from 13 inches to 17.3 inches, perfect for enhancing laptop use. They also introduced the Slidable Flex Duet, which can stretch from 8.1 inches to 12.4 inches, and the Slidable Flex Vertical, which can grow vertically from 5.1 inches to 6.7 inches, ideal for smartphones. We hope these rollable displays will improve and not show any creases when fully extended, making them even more attractive.
