According to GeekWire, Matt Wood, Vice President of Amazon Web Services (AWS), has announced his departure from Amazon after 15 years. On October 9, Wood shared his decision via LinkedIn, which was later confirmed by an Amazon spokesperson, although they did not disclose a successor.
In his LinkedIn update, Wood expressed his enthusiasm for his next role, stating, "I’m excited to continue driving transformation and reinvention for more organizations—stay tuned for more details." This suggests he may soon reveal his new position.
Wood has been a pivotal figure at AWS, particularly in the realms of machine learning and artificial intelligence.
