ZTE Unveils New AI Computing Server, Energizing Growth in the Artificial Intelligence Industry

In recent years, the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) has sparked not only technological transformation but also a significant surge in AI computing power, which is a critical measure of competitiveness in this field. Reports indicate that in 2023, global shipments of AI computing power servers increased by 38.4% year-over-year. As a leading AI nation, China ranks second globally in AI computing power and continues to lead in growth, with its AI server market expanding by 82.5% compared to last year.

ZTE Corporation has launched a new line of AI computing power servers that promise enhanced performance. As a global leader in Information and Communication Technology (ICT), ZTE recently announced the introduction of the G6 series, featuring two impressive additions: the high-performance R2350 G6 server and the massive storage R2550 G6 server. These products deliver exceptional computing capabilities, revitalizing the landscape of AI servers.

The R2350 G6 server boasts strong computational performance, equipped with a high-performance processor. It stands out with its rapid transfer speeds of up to 6000MT/s, extendable to 6400MT/s based on specific client requirements. Its extensibility supports 16 PCIe 5.0 expansion slots and 32 NVMe U.2/E1.S/E3.S hard drives, providing high-speed I/O interfaces. The server also supports up to four dual-width full-length GPU cards, making it ideal for high-concurrency, low-latency, and data-intensive workloads across various applications, including the internet, cloud computing, and AI inference.

On the other hand, the R2550 G6 server is designed for data storage applications. This 4U server integrates computing and storage, featuring a high-performance processor with transfer speeds reaching 6000MT/s, and a maximum of 6400MT/s upon request. It supports a wide range of storage types, including up to 44 hot-swappable 2.5/3.5-inch hard drives and up to 28 NVMe U.2 hard drives. This configuration ensures ample storage capacity and ultra-fast I/O interfaces, catering to the massive data storage needs of cloud storage, AI computing, big data, and multimedia applications.

ZTE's continuous investment in AI computing power servers is evident, with the recent launch of the R6930 G3 server, designed specifically for training large AI models. This server features high-bandwidth connectivity and eco-friendly liquid cooling, meeting the demands of high-parallel computing required for AI model training. It provides significant computational support for financial institutions engaged in natural language processing, deep learning, AI, and high-performance computing, thereby fostering innovation in AI applications within the finance sector.

With a comprehensive strategy in the AI computing field, ZTE has been a pioneer in AI investments since 2016. Today, the company boasts a complete range of servers and storage products, including general servers, GPU servers, liquid-cooled servers, and both all-flash and hybrid storage solutions. This vast product portfolio addresses nearly every application scenario within cloud computing, big data processing, and AI.

The launch of the new R2350 G6 and R2550 G6 servers not only strengthens ZTE's G6 product family but also enhances the diversity and performance of its AI computing offerings. As predicted by Bain & Company, the global AI market is expected to reach a trillion-dollar scale by 2027, indicating continued high demand for AI computing power. With ongoing innovation from leading ICT companies like ZTE, the growth of China's AI industry remains vibrant, ensuring its position at the forefront of the global AI landscape.
