"Infineon Partners with Aurora Labs to Enhance Predictive Maintenance for Improved Driver Safety"

Infineon Technologies and Aurora Labs have joined forces to enhance predictive maintenance solutions in the automotive industry, ultimately improving driver safety.

Announced at CES 2024, this partnership aims to raise automotive safety standards through advanced AI-driven solutions. Together, they strive to enhance the long-term reliability and safety of essential automotive components, such as steering systems, brakes, and airbags.

The collaboration leverages Aurora Labs’ Line-of-Code Intelligence (LOCI) AI technology, integrated into Infineon’s 32-bit TriCore AURIX TC4x microcontrollers (MCUs). This powerful combination enables automotive manufacturers to improve vehicle safety, reliability, and performance throughout a vehicle's lifespan.

Zohar Fox, CEO of Aurora Labs, stated, “Our partnership with Infineon represents a major advancement in utilizing AI-driven automation across the vehicle’s software lifecycle. This solution ensures real-time monitoring and rapid response to software failures at both the MCU and ECU levels, in accordance with WP29 guidelines. By protecting applications and overseeing OTA updates, our joint solution effectively reduces the risks of cyberattacks and hardware failures.”

The alliance focuses on predictive safety maintenance through AI capabilities, creating a smoother and more secure experience for drivers. This innovative solution streamlines OEM software development, tackling lines-of-code complexities and hardware peripheral challenges, ultimately aiming for compliance with ASIL-D standards.

Thomas Schneid, senior director at Infineon, emphasized, “As a leading provider of automotive semiconductors, our collaboration with Aurora Labs is a pivotal move toward enhancing predictive maintenance applications. Integrating Infineon’s AURIX MCUs with Aurora Labs’ software solutions not only prevents data corruption and software malfunctions but also significantly elevates the safety of critical automotive functions such as steering, braking, and airbags.”
