Openai's Opt-Out Tool Is Not yet Available.

In May, OpenAI announced a tool called Media Manager, designed to help creators control how their work is used in AI training data. Seven months later, however, the tool has yet to be released.Media Manager was designed to allow creators to include or exclude copyrighted material such as text, images, audio, and video from AI training datasets. Despite being positioned as a solution to legal and ethical issues, reports indicate that its development has not been prioritized. Many creators are frustrated that OpenAI has not been able to deliver the promised exit tool by 2025 because of the ongoing challenges they face in protecting copyrighted material.
Reportedly, the tool is rarely viewed internally as an important release. openAI has yet to provide an update on Media Manager's progress, and the company missed its self-imposed deadline to have the tool operational “by 2025. 2025 has just begun, so perhaps openAI will release the tool by the end of this year. 2025 has just begun, so perhaps OpenAI will release the tool by the end of this year.
Personally, I think OpenAI should take the development of this tool seriously and make good on its promise as soon as possible. After all, creators have an urgent need to protect their copyrighted material, and since OpenAI has proposed a solution, it has a responsibility to put it in place. This is important not only for the rights of creators, but also for the healthy development of the AI industry as a whole. At the same time, OpenAI needs to strengthen its communication with creators and provide them with timely feedback on the progress of the tool, so as to avoid further dissatisfaction due to a lack of transparency.
