Oracle Aims to Simplify AI Integration Throughout the Tech Stack

At the beginning of the year, Oracle introduced a suite of AI tools designed to help businesses seamlessly integrate artificial intelligence across their operations. Doug Kehring, the company’s Executive Vice President for Corporate Operations, emphasized the importance of simplifying AI implementation. During his keynote address at Oracle’s CloudWorld event in London, Kehring underscored that AI should be a fundamental element of product design, asserting that Oracle embeds this technology “from the start” rather than treating it as an afterthought.

Kehring pointedly critiqued competitors who rely on what he described as “far-fetched” product names, referencing platforms like Salesforce’s AI solution named after Einstein, which he found to be somewhat outdated. He also referred to Google’s AI known as Bard, now rebranded as Gemini, admitting a lack of familiarity with the term “Bard.” According to Kehring, Oracle distinguishes itself through a straightforward approach, encapsulated in its name, Oracle AI.

By integrating AI directly into its enterprise products, Oracle aims to empower businesses to realize their objectives through unique data insights. The technology combines the extensive knowledge derived from large language models with specific business data, enabling tailored solutions. “AI can enhance everything from improving customer response rates to increasing efficiency in underwriting, enhancing patient outcomes, bolstering workplace safety, and reducing financial fraud,” Kehring stated.

**Customer Transformations and Insights**

During the keynote, Oracle spotlighted several customers who shared their experiences with digital transformation. One notable speaker was Nick Griffin, the Crown Representative from the Cabinet Office. Griffin explained that the U.K. government is leveraging AI not only to bolster productivity but also to enhance the accuracy of outcomes. “[AI] is not just about productivity; it’s about the benefits we gain from it, enabling us to access services in a manner that’s much more suited to our needs,” he remarked.

Griffin also highlighted the critical importance of data security in AI deployment. He expressed optimism that concerns surrounding data protection would not hinder the adoption of AI technologies. “I believe there’s a pathway through the security challenges, as the advances in AI offer tremendous potential benefits,” he added.

Another key speaker, Pedro Sardo, the Director of Technology Shared Services and Group IT Operations at Vodafone, discussed how his company is harnessing AI to enhance both staff productivity and customer service. He provided a compelling example of how summarization tools can enable Vodafone’s call center teams to receive early alerts about customer issues, allowing the company to proactively resolve problems before they escalate.

Through these insights, Oracle continues to demonstrate its commitment to simplifying AI integration while ensuring that businesses can effectively harness the power of data-driven technologies to propel their digital transformation journeys.
