Spotify Launches AI-Enhanced Playlist Feature Across the U.S. and Additional Markets

Spotify has broadened the reach of its innovative AI Playlist tool to users in the U.S., Canada, Ireland, and New Zealand, following its initial rollout for Premium subscribers in the U.K. and Australia. This beta feature is currently accessible on both Android and iOS devices, empowering users to generate customized playlists based on their written prompts. For example, a user might input "a romantic playlist for date night at home" and receive a tailored selection of tracks to set the perfect ambiance.

Users can enhance their playlists by adding additional prompts, and Spotify also offers useful suggestions for potential prompts. The platform encourages users to mix genres, moods, artists, and decades to craft distinctive playlists that reflect personal preferences. Furthermore, to enrich their playlist-making experience, users can incorporate elements like locations, animals, movie characters, colors, and even emojis.

According to Spotify, this AI-driven feature has seen great success in the U.K. and Australia, with subscribers generating “millions of playlists that they keep coming back to,” as noted in the company’s recent blog post.

To take advantage of the AI playlist creation tool, users can navigate to the “Your Library” tab, tap the plus button (+) in the top right corner, and select “AI Playlist” from the menu alongside “Playlist” and “Blend.” By pressing the “Create” button, users can easily save their customized playlist to their library.
