Google's "Select Search" feature, originally launched on the Samsung Galaxy S24 earlier this year, is set to roll out on additional devices, including several Pixel smartphones. This tool aims to enhance the user search experience by making it more convenient and intuitive.
The "Select Search" function allows users to circle or doodle any content directly on their phone screens to initiate a Google search. It is especially useful when browsing websites or images and wanting to explore a topic further without knowing how to input it. Initially released on the Galaxy S24, S24 Plus, and S24 Ultra, this feature is now expanding to the Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro.
As of March 27, Google has announced that "Select Search" will soon be available for Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 6a, and Pixel 7a users. To access this feature, users should ensure that their Google app is updated to the latest version.
Additionally, Google has confirmed plans for "Select Search" to support Google Pixel Fold and Google Pixel Tablet, although the exact launch dates for these devices are yet to be announced.
Another exciting enhancement is the upcoming translation feature. When viewing content in a foreign language—like menus or websites—users will have access to a translation button that provides instant translations into their preferred language. This feature is expected to be available in the coming weeks.
