Check Point Introduces AI-Powered Security System for Effective Data Leak and Threat Prevention

Check Point Software Technologies has unveiled new solutions to protect users from evolving AI-led attacks. At the Black Hat USA 2024 conference, Check Point introduced a generative AI security solution to help businesses mitigate risks when adopting new AI applications. This feature utilizes generative AI to power data classification, preventing sensitive business data from leaking into applications like language models.

Employees using generative AI applications, such as external chatbots like ChatGPT, may inadvertently expose company data. Once entered, this information becomes part of the application's training data, risking the exposure of confidential business data. Check Point's new feature aims to address this issue by categorizing conversational data within prompt inputs to generative AI applications, enabling users to safeguard their proprietary information.

This protective feature can identify context in conversational prompts, distinguishing sensitive information to ensure that confidential data remains secure. It is accessible through Check Point's Preview Program for interested users. Additionally, at the Black Hat conference, Check Point announced a new cloud service named Harmony Endpoint Data Loss Prevention (DLP), powered by generative AI. This service can identify over 700 predefined data types to enhance visibility and control over data, allowing users to set custom data types and detect sensitive information within images.

Furthermore, Check Point presented enhancements to ThreatCloud AI on its Infinity Platform, now equipped to identify complex attacks through the ThreatCloud Graph engine. This engine provides multidimensional assessments of cyberthreats, helping users understand emerging threats and their relation to known malicious entities. Another notable addition is the Deep Brand Clustering tool, leveraging deep learning to prevent brand spoofing phishing campaigns and identifying potentially harmful communications by analyzing website traffic patterns.

The improved ThreatCloud AI boasts a 99.8% malware catch rate, offering businesses robust protection against cyber threats. The developments unveiled by Check Point demonstrate a commitment to enhancing cybersecurity in the face of AI-led attacks.
